Weight loss and frailty are not an inevitable part of ageing but it does happen, luckily undernutrition which can lead to this can be prevented. Through groups and 1-1 support we’re here to help you understand how your nutritional needs will change and what you can do to maintain your health and wellbeing.

If you would like to talk to us about anything food related please do call us, we can advise on aspects of maintaining healthy nutrition, give you recipes and help you arrange food or meal deliveries.

As part of our work on nutrition Brighton and Hove Food Partnership and Impact Initiatives have updated Eating Well to Stay Healthy as You Age booklet. Get in touch if you would like a copy for yourself or someone else.

Perhaps you have been identified as someone who needs support to maintain your weight or you would like to self-refer and are seeking information. We can talk you through reasons for weight loss and help you with top tips and recipes, as well as linking you in to other services and activities.

‘Having been stuck in the house for a week, I had already lost my appetite and was feeling low on energy. Ageing Well gave me some advice and recipes which were really helpful. We now have a weekly phone call to check in so I can ask any questions, I have more energy and spend less time cooking but cook better meals which I enjoy.’

– George, Age 88
